Reflecting on My First Runway Debut with oodelooo Ballet Wear

I can’t believe that this time last year, I was in full prep-mode for my first runway debut with oodelooo Ballet Wear! It was a whirlwind of excitement, creativity, and countless hours spent perfecting every detail to bring my vision to life. The thrill of seeing my designs walk down the runway for the first time is a moment I’ll never forget, and I’m so grateful for the journey that led me there.

One of my favorite pieces from Collection No. 1 was the show-opening look, which still holds a special place in my heart. The combination of elegance, movement, and that undeniable ballet-inspired flair made it a standout piece, and I’ve often found myself reminiscing about it.

But here’s some exciting news: this beloved look is about to get a re-make! I’m attending a friend’s black-tie wedding this November, and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to breathe new life into one of my all-time favorite designs. With the fall season in mind, I’m re-imagining the look with a twist that brings in the warm, rich tones and textures of autumn. 🍁

Bringing Ballet to the Ballroom

As I begin the process of re-creating this look, I’m excited to dive even deeper into ballet costuming techniques. My goal is to infuse the new version with even more intricate details, such as delicate appliqués, hand-adhered crystals, and the ethereal beauty of illusion mesh. These elements will add a touch of magic and sophistication, perfect for a black-tie wedding.

I also considered the idea of connecting the bodice and skirt to create a full dress. However, in true ballet fashion, I decided to stay true to the original concept and keep them as separate pieces: a bodysuit and skirt duo. This not only allows for more movement and versatility but also maintains that classic ballet aesthetic that I love so much.
